Osaka University Social Solutions Initiative 6th Symposium
“Living and Working
-What kind of economy and society values “Inochi(Life)”?
What kind of community development supports it?”

= Purpose =
In 2015, at the United Nations Summit, the “2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development,” which included the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), was unanimously adopted by all member states. This agenda promises to address various challenges that endanger not only human life but also the “life” of other species and the Earth itself.

Now, it is imperative for government, industry, academia, and civil society to work together to promote the achievement of the SDGs. Moreover, in line with the spirit of “leave no one behind” advocated by the SDGs, it is essential for everyone to consider, discuss and take action on what kind of society they want to realize beyond 2030, the target year for achieving the SDGs.

This initiative, in collaboration with the Global Sustainability Network (GSN), which focuses on Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), aims to reassess the relationship between “living” and “working.”

Furthermore, by incorporating the perspectives of Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), the initiative seeks to explore the ideal form of economy, society, and the cities and regions that support them.
